Pinterest’s fast growth driven by women

When she first tried Pinterest, Lizbeth Butler saw it as a waste of time. But she quickly realized the photo-centric site was an easy way to find fashion tips. Then she uncovered a do-it-yourself 3-D Valentine’s Day card project that was a hit with her son’s class. “With Facebook, a lot of the status updates are things you really don’t care about,” said Butler, who lives in San Diego. “With Pinterest, you can actually target the things that you like. I love it so much, I’m on all the time.”
